Tauck Reveals 'Loft' Cabins

Tauck Reveals 'Loft' Cabins

Tauck has released the first photos of its innovative new lower-level “loft” cabins and is celebrating the event by announcing an expanded complimentary drinks policy on all six of its European riverboats.

Under the new policy, guests will now enjoy unlimited beer, wine and premium spirits throughout the day aboard the four existing Jewel Class ships and on its two new Inspiration Class vessels launching this year. Previously, the  unlimited wine and beer had been served with onboard meals only.

According to Tauck CEO Dan Mahar, the expansion of the drinks policy is a natural extension of the company’s all-inclusive approach. he said: “Without a doubt, Tauck is the most fully-inclusive river cruise line, so expanding our beverage policy is entirely consistent with our core philosophy. We already sell zero options on our riverboats, and we already include all gratuities, shore excursions, meals ashore, airport transfers and much more, so we’re happy to make the total Tauck river cruise experience even more inclusive.”

Tauck is announcing its new onboard beverage policy as it releases the first photos of the new “loft” cabins that will be featured on the lower (Emerald) deck of the 2 new Inspiration Class ships, MS Inspire and Savor, which will be launched in April and June.

The innovative loft design features a raised seating area topped by a correspondingly higher ceiling that together allow the use of a much taller window.  Besides opening the cabin up to far more natural light, the window also features a central horizontal panel that can be raised electronically to let in generous amounts of fresh air.  By contrast, lower-level cabins on other ships typically have small eye-level windows that are permanently closed. At 225sq ft, Tauck’s loft cabins are also 50% more spacious than lower-level cabins found on other riverboats.  The Inspire and Savor will each feature eight loft cabins on their respective Emerald decks.

More About The Inspiration Class

Both ships will be 443ft long and each will have a capacity of just 130 guests to ensure a less-crowded, more relaxed and intimate ambiance.

Each will have twenty-two 300sq ft suites furnished with two French balconies with floor-to-ceiling windows, pull-out couch, roomy walk-in closest with built-in drawers, and spacious bathroom with rain shower.  Along with the suites, the newbuilds will also have thirty-two 225sq ft cabins, plus an additional 13 cabins ranging from 150-190sq ft. In keeping with Tauck’s policy of welcoming solo travellers, four of the 150sq ft cabins are set aside for guests on their own.

In addition to launching its two new ships, Tauck is also launching four new river cruise itineraries this year, including its first ever on the River Seine in France.
