Uniworld has announced that its next new Super Ship, S.S. Maria Theresa, which launch in spring 2015 with a European Jewels’ itinerary.

The ship, which is sold through Titan in the UK, is named after the Archduchess of Austria and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia, who reigned from 1740 to 1780. The European Jewels 15-day itinerary from Budapest to Amsterdam takes in her former realm.

S.S. Maria Theresa will also sail on selected dates for the 10-day Tulips and Windmills itinerary in March and April 2015. In December 2015 she will also offer a Danube Christmas markets cruise.

Guy Young, president of Uniworld said “We are delighted to name our new 2015 Super Ship after such a great historical figure as Maria Theresa, who had a wonderful and long legacy. In addition, Maria Theresa was the mother of Marie Antoinette, so in the spirit of our award-winning ship, S.S. Antoinette, we are confident the S.S. Maria Theresa will be equally as magnificent.”

Uniworld’s most recent ship, the S.S. Catherine launched in March on a route on the South of France’s Rhône and Saône rivers. S.S. Maria Theresa will be similarly custom designed with original touches including artwork, antiques and furniture

Titan is offering the 15-day European Jewels itinerary from £3,599 per person travelling in November 2015 (including a saving of £500 if booked by 31st May 2014).

Check the June-July issue of World of Cruising for its review of the S.S. Catherine.
