CroisiEurope Launch New Paddlewheel Boat On Loire

CroisiEurope have announced the debut of a striking new river-cruise vessel on the Loire River in 2015 - with a side paddlewheel.

The unique and distinctive MS Loire Princesse (above) will be 90 metres long and 15m wide, with three decks featuring 48 spacious outside cabins (at 15sq m) and accommodating up to 96 passengers. The upper deck will also feature a series of inviting balconies (at 3m x 1.2m).

The side paddlewheel - which aids navigation along the shallow Loire - is just part of a new technology package with the ship that also includes Wi-Fi throughout, individual climate control in every cabin and plasma screen TVs. The eye-catching main restaurant will be able to seat every passenger in single-service dining, while a huge lounge bar, with central dance floor, provides plenty of opportunity for relaxation and excitement.

There will also be a large sun deck atop the ship to provide perfect views of the passing French countryside, while the elegant decor will aim to be in perfect harmony with the convivial river-cruise atmosphere. Loire Princesse, which is being built in the St Nazaire shipyard of STX France - home of some of the world's greatest ocean liners - is also designed as the 'Green Ship,' to be as ecologically friendly as possible.

From April 2015, it will offer Loire cruises through some of France's most culturally rich areas, including the towns and cities of Nantes, St Nazaire, Ancenis, Angers, Saumur and Bouchemaine, while the Pays de la Loire region is also loaded with historical significance. It will be the only multi-day riverboat on the Loire, hence a brand new opportunity to discover the region in classic river-cruise style.
