Join The Sarthe Armada!

The largest gathering of pleasure boats on the rivers of France is scheduled for next July, in the lovely region of Pays de la Loire. And it promises to be an eye-catching event.

The National Association of Boating in Inland Waters, the event organisers, are aiming to promote tourism, local attractions and festivals through the waterways of France, and the Loire valley has been chosen as the ideal location.

So, for the very first time the Sarthe Armada, a gathering of yachts along 70km of waterways, will take place in Sarthe from July 6-18.

Around 200 boats of all kinds are expected to take part over the course of the 12 days, starting their journey at Sable-sur-Sarthe and going on to Le Mans, then back to Sable through Malicorne-sur-Sarthe (above), Juigné-sur-Sarthe, Noyen-sur-Sarthe, Fillé-sur-Sarthe and La Suze-sur-Sarthe.

The event will also showcase the region of Sarthe, through all the stops, ports, towns and villages along the way.
